Use the Internet to navigate to the Foreign Affairs and International Trade Canada website. This department oversees the consulates located within the United States.
Locate the "Canadian Offices Abroad" tab on the Foreign Affairs and International Trade Canada's homepage. The red tab is located on homepage's left-side navigation menu. Double-click the tab. This provides a listing of embassies, consulates, trade offices and high commissions operated in foreign countries.
Double-click the "U" link under the headline "List of Office Websites," which navigates you to the page containing listings for the United States. There are Canadian Consulates in 20 cities throughout in the U.S. The Canadian Embassy, which also provides consular services, is located in Washington, D.C.
Select the city that is nearest to your location. You are linked to that city's Canadian Consulate. Each consulate page provides information for visas, trade and investment, visitor guide and contact information. U.S. citizens planning a trip to Canada should contact the consulate or city nearest their home address.
