Locate your expired passport. You will need to submit your most recent passport with your renewal application. It will be returned with your new passport. If you do not have your old passport or if it is damaged, you will need to apply for a new passport.
Get a new passport photo taken. You will need to submit two identical copies of your passport photo along with your application. You can have a new passport photo taken at various locations throughout Bloomsburg including CVS, Mail Room Etc., and Sears Portrait Studio.
Fill out a passport renewal application. You can download the application from the U.S. State Department website or pick one up at the Columbia County Prothonotary's Office. The application must be filled out legibly and with black ink. If you are renewing your passport in person, do not sign your application. You will need to sign it in front of the processing agent.
Submit your application. Along with your application you will need to include your new passport photos, your most recent passport, and payment for the passport renewal fee. If you are eligible to mail your application, you will need to include all of the previous items and send it to the address found on the renewal application. To renew in person, you will need to take all of the items to the Columbia County Prothonotary's Office. The Columbia County Prothonotary's Office is located at 35 West Main Street in Bloomsburg.
