Apply for a non-immigrant visa. Visit the website for the U.S. Embassy in Hanoi, Vietnam. Go to the "Seven Steps for Preparing Your Visa Interview" page for instructions on how to apply for a non-immigrant visa (see Resources for a link). Complete the application form, pay the application fee, prepare an application photo and prepare supporting documents. Have a valid passport ready in case your application is approved.
Schedule an interview appointment online.
Complete the Emergency Appointments form online. This form is only available for applicants who have already filed an application for a non-immigrant visa to the United States. You will be contacted via e-mail within two business days when your emergency application has been reviewed. If your emergency application has been approved, you will receive an earlier interview date.
