How to Ship a Vehicle to Puerto Rico

According to the Puerto Rico Convention Bureau, all inbound shipments to Puerto Rico are subject to a local excise tax. It states that merchandise and/or articles arriving from mainland U.S. that will be sold, consumed, given away and/or remain in Puerto Rico are subject to a 6.6 percent Puerto Rico excise tax that is calculated from the commercial invoice value. Therefore, if you are considering shipping your vehicle to Puerto Rico from the United States, you must bear in mind the taxes you will be subjected to pay.
