How to Apply for a Permanent Visa

A visa is a travel document that is affixed in your passport that allows you to travel to a foreign country. In the United States, a permanent residence visa is called an immigrant visa or a green card. An immigrant visa allows you to live and work lawfully in the United States. There are several different ways to apply for permanent residence in the United States, depending on your reasons for immigration.
