Accredited by the American Camp Association, Overland Summer Programs take safety seriously. Groups are carefully created, and expectations are high. Located in Maine, Williwaw Adventures has been creating unique experiences for youths since 1999. Williwaw expeditions take place in Maine, the Pacific Northwest and the Bahamas (depending on the program chosen). Activities include backpacking, sea kayaking, rafting, marine ecology, community service and hiking. While learning more about the outdoors, members also learn to work together as a group and gain more self-awareness in the process. Confidence, self-reliance and personal responsibility are encouraged. Each night, an evening meeting takes place so that members may discuss the day's achievements, problems and plans for the following day. Williwaw's instructors are each certified by the state of Maine in wilderness first aid and trip leadership.
