If you want to get out of the country and have babysitting or child-care experiences, apply to be a nanny through agencies with online vacancies. College-age applicants are preferred because au pairs must be at least 18. Au pair arrangements involve meals and accommodations provided by the host family in addition to weekly spending money. Most au pair arrangements involve work weeks of 20 to 30 hours. Most holiday au pairs work from June until September. If you want to see the world, learn or expand a new language, experience a new culture and travel while you work, a nanny job is a good choice. If you nanny in Europe, many countries are within train distance to visit on your down time.
