California is famous for sand, surf and big cities such as San Francisco and Los Angeles, but there is a whole other side to the state that attracts snow lovers. Central California and Northern California in particular are known for their winter beauty. If you are interested in camping, a number of campgrounds are located near ski parks and trails that you can enjoy in the winter. Be prepared with the proper clothing and make sure to pack snow chains for your vehicle.
