    Things to Do

    • One of the main draws to the American River Resort is the river activities offered, such as whitewater rafting and canoeing. There are a variety of options available, from mellow trips for families with children to rougher ones for more adventurous souls. If history is your thing, this is the perfect area, as it is where the California Gold Rush started. Gold panning on the banks of the river is a popular activity in the park. For more adult-centered activities, American River Resort is located close to the wineries of El Dorado County.
