      Camp Edison, on the banks of Shaver Lake, approximately 50 miles from Fresno, California, is a privately owned campground. Camp Edison has 252 campsites that are all equipped with electricity; free cable TV and limited high-speed Internet access. Most campsites accommodate tents; popup campers, camp trailers and large RVs. Amenities include a boat ramp, fish cleaning station, laundry facilities, volleyball, basketball, horseshoes and swimming. Reservations are required.

    Jedediah Smith Campground

    • At the Jedediah Smith campground you can hike through California redwoods.

      Jedediah Smith campground is run by the National Park Service, and is located in the Jedediah Smith Redwoods State Park, approximately 9 miles east of Crescent City, California. Campground sites are among old California Redwood trees next to the California Smith River. Recreation and amenities include a boat launch, fishing, hiking trails, nature center, nature trails, picnic area, restrooms, showers and swimming. Sites can accommodate RVs up to 36 feet and trailers up to 31 feet.

    D.L. Bliss State Park

    • D.L. Bliss State Park has two great hiking trails.

      The National Park Service operates the D.L. Bliss campground, located in D.L. Bliss State Park, in Lake Tahoe, 17 miles south of Tahoe City. The campground is known for its popular hiking trails, like the Lighthouse Trail and the Balancing Rock Nature Trail. Recreation and accommodations include: boating, dump station, fishing, hiking, picnic area, restrooms, showers and swimming. Campground site can only accommodate trailers and RVs 18 feet or less.

    Russian Gulch State Park, North of Mendocino

    • The Russian Gulch campground has beautiful tide pools.

      Russian Gulch campground is in the Russian Gulch State Park along the Mendocino Coast. Campers can enjoy the beach, swim, explore tide pools, a 36-foot high waterfall and skin dive. Managed by the National Park Service, campground recreation also includes hiking, boating and fishing. Campground amenities include: picnic tables, restrooms and showers. Available campsites include group camping areas, tent sites, and sites for trailers up to 24 feet.
