Locate the Hunting Island State Park website at www.huntingisland.com.
Click on "Park Info" at the top of the Hunting Island State Park web page and move your mouse over to "Camping & Cabins" and click on "Camping."
Click on the link "to reserve online," which is underlined and toward the bottom of the page. The South Carolina State Parks web page for Hunting Island will pop up in a new window.
Click on the drop-down menu to the left of the screen where it lists "Looking for," and scroll down to the type of campsite you need to reserve. For example, if you are reserving an RV site, click the arrow beside "Any camping spot," and scroll down to RV sites and click. If you have a loop preference, you can click on the site area where you would prefer to camp.
Point and click on "Range" to choose the dates and time you have available to plan your camping trip.
Insert the start date for the time you plan to camp at Hunting Island and the end date for the end of your planned camping trip in the appropriate labeled boxes "Start Date" and "End Date." For example, if you can plan your camping trip for any time during the month of June 2011, insert "06/01/2011" in the "Start Date" box and "06/30/2011" in the "End Date" box. Then insert the number of days you plan to spend camping at Hunting Island in the box "Length of Stay." For example, if you plan to camp for a week, you can insert "7" in the "Length of Stay" box.
Click "Search Campsites." The calendar will pop-up with available dates within your range. Available campsites and dates will appear with the letter "A." Simply click on the first "A" date that you would like to arrive where there is an "A" in the following six date boxes. If there is an "R" listed the site is already reserved for that date and you'll have to choose a consecutive group of seven "A" blocks in a row. For example, the availability may show Campsite 117 has four "A" blocks from June 1 through June 4 and then an "R" block under June 5 through June 7. You would not be able to stay the seven days at Campsite 117 and will have to choose another campsite with seven "A" blocks in a row.
Click "Book these Dates" once you have reviewed the campsite, dates, charges and site details and are sure this is the site you want for the days listed.
Insert your "User name/Email address" in the labeled box and your "Password " in the labeled box and click "Sign In." If you have not registered on the South Carolina State Parks website, you can sign up by clicking "Sign Up Now." Insert your email address, make up a password, insert your name, telephone number and mailing address to create an account. You will then be sent back to the page where you can click "Sign In."
Confirm the dates and campsite for your trip to Hunting Island State Park by clicking "Confirm."
