The Hollister Hills SVRA is in Hollister, near the coast and south of San Francisco. The park has two sections for OHV riding. The Upper Ranch, an 800-acre area features 24 miles of trails for four-wheel drive vehicles and motorcycle special events. The Lower Ranch offers 2,400 acres and 64 trails for motorcycle and ATV use only. The Upper Ranch has two campgrounds, while the Lower Ranch has five. All of the campgrounds have flush toilets and drinking water. One campground in each section has showers. Primitive sites with no RV hook-ups are available. Four-wheel drive groups can reserve camping areas with space to accommodate up to 300 people.

Located inland from the city of San Francisco, the Carnegie SVRA has 1,500 acres and OHV trails that climb hills up to 1800 feet. The trails, which are for riders of all levels, also go through dry rocky washes and steep canyons. The Carnegie SVRA has 23 campsites available on a first-come, first-serve basis. The campground does not allow riders who are visiting for just the day. The campground includes fire pits, restrooms, coin-operated showers and drinking water. It does not have a dump station, but does have picnic tables throughout the park. The park is also known for its wildlife viewing opportunities.

The Hungry Valley SVRA in southern California, north of Los Angeles, has 137 miles of OHV trails and roads in its 19,000 acres. The park is also near 150 miles of OHV trails in the adjoining Padres National Forest. Elevations range from 2,600 to more than 8,000 feet in Hungry Valley and the trails go through high deserts, pine forests and rolling hills. The park has a four-wheel drive obstacle course. Hungry Valley offers 10 campgrounds and 150 campsites. The area next to Gold Hill Road and Hungry Valley Road has nine campgrounds in shaded areas with fire pits, picnic tables, fire rings, vault restrooms and trashcans. No drinking water is available in the entire park.
