Campgrounds in Otsego County, Michigan

Located in the northern portion of the state of Michigan, Otsego County is located within the watershed regions of the Cheboygan River, the Au Sable River and the Manistee Rivers. Formed in 1875, the county is home to attractions like Otsego Lake County Park and Call Of the Wild Bavarian Falls Park museum. Visitors to Otsego County have a variety of accommodations to choose from, including campgrounds.
  1. Gaylord KOA Resort

    • Located in the county seat of Gaylord, the Gaylord KOA Resort has five spots for tent-camping, 15 rental cabins and 99 spaces for recreational vehicles. Both back-in and pull-through sites are available on the property, with the largest spaces able to accommodate 75-foot vehicles. All of the sites have wireless Internet as well as electricity and water hookups. Sewage is available at approximately half the sites, and some also offer cable television connections. The park offers restrooms, showers, a waste dump and a mobile sewer service. Firewood and propane are sold on-site. There's a heated pool, miniature golf course, shuffleboard court, volleyball nets, a game-room with pool tables and bicycle rentals. Children can enjoy ice cream socials, two playgrounds, hayrides, an arcade and planned arts-and-crafts activities. The park is open from late April through mid-October.

    Otsego Lake County Park

    • Also located in Gaylord, Otsego Lake County Park is a 27-acre public facility. The park has 80 recreational vehicle campsites, which can accommodate vehicles up to 60 feet in length. All of the sites have electric hookups. Although water and sewage connections are not provided, restrooms, showers and a waste dump are available for guests' convenience. Each spot has its own fire pit and wireless Internet is accessible throughout the park. Otsego Lake is a popular site for fishing, swimming and boating. Campers can also enjoy a sand volleyball court, horseshoe pits, basketball courts and a playground. The park is open from May to October. The maximum stay at the park is 15 days.

    Pickerel Lake State Forest Campground at Otsego

    • Operated by the State of Michigan Department of Natural Resources, the Pickerel Lake State Forest Campground at Otsego is located in Vanderbilt. The park offers 39, back-in sites that measure 12 feet by 50 feet in size. No hookups are available in the park. The park offers toilets, but no showers, and there is no waste dump on-site. Adjacent to the campsites, Pickerel Lake is popular for freshwater fishing and swimming. A ramp is provided for boaters. The park also offers a 1.9-mile hiking and biking and trail. Because of its rustic facilities, the park is an ideal location for wildlife-watching. Pickerel Lake State Forest Campground is open year-round. Reservations are not accepted; all spots are first-come, first-serve. There is a 15-day maximum on all stays.
