Established in 1986, Mousetail Landing State Park is a 1,200-acre national reserve located along the Tennessee River and is only five miles from the nearby town of Linden. Within the campground, guests will find over 11 miles of hiking trails through weaving forests, more than 20 prepared campsites, boat landing sites to launch into the Tennessee River, an archery range, enclosed event pavilions, and large sports courts and fields, all located directly on the campground.
Beech Bend is located just along the Tennessee River about six miles south of Mousetail Landing. It is a notable and popular campground and recreation center of Tennessee. Beech Bend offers many opportunities for fishing, swimming, and boating along the Tennessee River as well as a large campground of over 76 sites as well as bath houses and indoor restrooms with sewage and electrical hookups available at most of the campsites.
Located 20 miles west of Mousetail, Natchez Trace is a large national park and campground wrapped around two expansive lakes: the Pinoak Lake and the Browns Creek Lake. Natchez Trace offers a restaurant on the campgrounds as well as over 200 campsites, cabins and special villas for its guests. Horse camping and backwoods camping are also available for the more adventurous guests of Natchez Trace State Park. Guests can enjoy on-site bathing and restrooms as well as Wi-Fi availability and a pet-friendly atmosphere.
Land Between the Lakes, or LBL, as it is commonly abbreviated to, is a massive stretch of campground spanned between the Kentucky Lake and the Tennessee River. Though it is 30 miles north of Mousetail Landing, it is a notable campground visited from people hailing from all over the country. Guests can find four distinct campgrounds around the forested island of LBL. These include Piney Campground, Hillman Ferry, Energy Lake Camping, and Wranglers Camp, a horse camping site. Guests can also enjoy a local Elk and Bison Prairie, small town shopping of Dover, Tennessee, and Turkey Bay hunting grounds.
