Select a belt that accommodates interchanging buckles. Some belts come with their buckles permanently attached, making it impossible to use emo buckles with them. There are various types of belts for different belt buckles. Two choices include belts for snap-on buckles and belts for sliding buckles. Choose one according to your preference.
Locate an assortment of your favorite emo-style belt buckles that accommodate the belt style you are wearing. Emo belt buckle styles vary immensely.
Turn over your emo belt buckle to determine what kind of attachment it features. It may have two knobs sticking out of the backside of it. This means you can easily snap it into place on the notches of your belt near the clasp at your waist to cover it. You can do this before or after you have the belt on. This style is probably better for permanent wear, since frequently pulling knobs in and out of the holes of the belt can stretch them. This may eventually cause the belt buckle to fall off.
Slide the free end of the belt through one of the opened ends of the slider-style emo belt buckle. Feed the belt through until the buckle rests over the clasp of the belt.
