    • The United States' largest indoor water park at 173,000 square feet, the Kalahari Resorts' Indoor Water Park in Sandusky, Ohio, features private, indoor cabanas, a 12,000-square-foot wave pool, and the Zip Coaster, which is an uphill water roller coaster. Rides such as the FlowRider create five-foot surf waves, while the Cheetah Race four-lane mat water slide allows water sliders to race downhill into streams of water. Swim-up bars, lazy river rides and a 60-diameter bowl raft ride are also popular guest attractions. The park is open 365 days a year, and guests do not need to stay overnight at the Kalahari Resort to visit the water park. The park opens at 10 a.m. and closes at 9 or 10 a.m. daily as of 2010.

    World Waterpark

    • Located in Edmonton, Alberta, in Canada, the World Waterpark is the largest water park in North America and boasts the world's largest wave pool. The water park's five venues feature a year-round climate of 82 degrees, 17 water slides, and the world's largest indoor bungee tower. Water rides offer sharp turns, darkened tunnels and conveyor-assisted sled climbs. Wwith beginner, intermediate, advanced and extreme levels, the water rides at World Waterpark are designed for all ages. The beginner-level rides allow parental "catches" at the end of the slide. The park, which is an indoor tropical resort, features houses, shops, sandy beaches, a lagoon, restaurants and amusement park water rides. The indoor temperature remains a balmy 77 degrees, with guests capable of getting a sun tan through the 80 percent, UV sunlight-penetrable ceiling dome. Tropical Islands has Germany's highest water slide, which is 82 feet high and provides 42 mile-per-hour slide experience. Open year-round, 24 hours a day, Tropical Islands offers nearby overnight stays outside the dome that include all-inclusive benefits. Camping is also available within the dome.
