Visitors to Bar Harbor, Maine won't be at a loss for ways to enjoy water activities. From whale watching in the harbor to kayaking tours in Acadia National Park, the area affords an abundance of opportunity for water fun. Although the state of Maine does not have a plethora of man-made water parks, there are three places to enjoy water slides within a few hours' drive of Bar Harbor.
Seacoast Fun Park is just 14 miles northwest of Bar Harbor and has the only water slides in northern Maine. Visitors to the park can also engage in "water wars," which involves hurling water balloons at an opponent from behind a battle station. A swimming pool is also located at the park. As of 2010, an all-day pass cost $15 for the water slides and $5 for the swimming pool, and two buckets of water balloons could be purchased for $6. Seacoast Fun Park also offers miniature golf and go-karts.

Aquaboggan Water Park is about 170 miles south of Bar Harbor. Maine's first water park, the Aquaboggan had been serving the area for more than 30 years. Attractions include a giant wave pool, a bumping boats ride similar to bumper cars, and a curving water slide that allows multiple riders to travel down on an inner tube. The park is also home to a miniature golf course and toddler play area. As of 2010, an all-day ticket to the park was $20 for anyone over 4 feet tall and $16 for anyone under 4 feet tall.

Splashtown Water Park is about 200 miles from Bar Harbor in southern Maine. The park has 18 attractions, including water slides and swimming pools. Some water slides at the park, such as the tornado and liquid lightning slides, can accommodate multiple riders in the same inner tube. The splish and splash ride offers visitors a totally dark water slide experience through an enclosed tube. As of 2010, the price for an all-day pass to the park was $22 for guests at least 4 feet tall and $18 for guests shorter than 4 feet.
