Campgrounds Near Addison, Michigan

Located in Lenawee County, Addison, Michigan, is approximately 40 miles southwest of Ann Arbor. The small community is home to the Onsted State Game Area and is near to Michigan International Speedway, which hosts NASCAR races. Visitors to the Addison area have a variety of accommodations to choose from, including public and private campgrounds that offer on-site amenities and recreational activities.
  1. Irish Hills Resort Kampground

    • Irish Hills Resort Kampground is in Cement City, less than seven miles from Addison (around 12 minutes by automobile). The campground consists of 130 campsites, only 60 of which are available for short-term rentals by overnight guests rather than seasonal or long-term residents. Fourteen of the spaces are pull-through sites measuring 25 feet by 30 feet, while the back-ins are 28 feet by 36 feet. Water and electric hookups are available at every site. Although the campground does not have sewage connections, a waste dump and mobile sewer service are offered. Wireless Internet is available in and around the campground's office and game room. A number of campsites with no connections are reserved for tent camping. On-site amenities include restrooms, showers and laundry facilities. The campground operates a store that sells RV supplies, bait, ice, groceries and firewood. All guests receive a free paddle boat rental for use on Mud Lake, which is adjacent to the campsites. Campers can also freshwater fish in the lake. A playground, horseshoe pits, basketball and volleyball courts, a miniature golf course and a train ride for children are also located on the property. The campground operates from late April through early October.

    Somerset Beach Campground

    • The Southern Michigan Conference of the Free Methodist Church of North America owns and operates Somerset Beach Campground, which is in Somerset Center, Michigan, approximately nine miles from Addison (about 17 minutes by automobile). The campground offers 50 primitive (no connection) sites for tent camping, two rental cabins and 215 RV spaces, approximately 105 of which are available for short-term rentals. The lots measure 30 feet by 45 feet and have electric hookups. Wireless Internet is available at the campground's recreational hall. The camp has restrooms, showers, a waste dump, mobile sewer service and laundry facilities. Firewood, propane and RV supplies can be purchased on-site. Mission Lake is located on the property, providing fishing, swimming and boating. The campground offers rowboat rentals and has a dock and boat ramp. Also at the camp are horseshoe pits and horses and trails for riding. Somerset Beach Campground is open year-round, though amenities and activities are limited in the winter.

    Juniper Hills Campground

    • Located across from Michigan International Speedway, Juniper Hills Campground is in Brooklyn, Michigan, less than 10 miles from Addison (around 15 minutes by automobile). The campground has 2,000 campsites for tents and recreational vehicles. The 320 sites available for short-term RV camping are 30 feet by 40 feet and have water and electric hookups. Among the amenities offered by the campground are restrooms, showers, a waste dump and mobile sewer service. The campground store sells groceries, firewood, ice and RV supplies. An ATM is also located on the property. Guests can fish in the campground's pond. Juniper Hills Campground is open from May through late October. Reservations are required for race weekends.
