Campgrounds Near Beaverton, Michigan

Located in Gladwin County, Beaverton, Michigan, is 41 miles northwest of Saginaw and 125 miles northwest of Detroit. For tourists, the Beaverton area is home to numerous attractions, such as Gladwin State Park, Sugar Springs Golf Course and Soaring Eagle Casino & Resort.     • Lost Haven Campground consists of 100 campsites for recreational vehicles, 25 of which are available for short-term overnight stays, as opposed to seasonal or monthly rentals. Water and electric hookups are available at each site. Although the park does not offer sewage connections, a sewage waste dump and mobile sewer service are offered on the property. Restrooms and showers are located at the campground for guests' convenience. The park operates a small store that sells basic groceries, firewood and RV supplies. Campers can swim in the campground's on-site pond. Horseshoe pits and a playground are also featured. Lost Haven Campground operates from May to October each year; tent camping is prohibited.

    Tobacco River Campground

    • A privately-owned facility, Tobacco River Campground has 78 recreational vehicle and tent-camping sites, with 54 of the spaces available for short-term guests. Among these short-term campsites are 44 spaces with electric connections. The campground offers showers and restrooms as well as a waste dump. A camp store sells groceries, snacks and firewood. The Tobacco River flows through the campground, and the park has a beach for swimming. Also offered a boat launch and docks for boating on the river. The campground rents canoes. Other recreational facilities include horseshoe pits and an indoor gameroom. The Tobacco River Campground is open year-round, although facilities and activities are limited during the winter months.

    Gladwin City Park and Campground

    • The Gladwin City Park and Campground is a public facility in Gladwin, approximately 8 miles from Gladwin. The campground offers 60 short-term, grassy recreational vehicle or tent campsites. Each space has its own fire ring. A sewage dump, restrooms and showers are found at the property; the park sells firewood as well. The Cedar River is adjacent to the campground for swimming. Recreational activities and facilities include a playground, horseshoe pits, hiking trails, tennis and basketball courts, and volleyball nets. The campground is open from May through November.
