Located in Carrollton, just north of Coweta County, the 138-acre John Tanner State Park offers RV and tent camping for visitors. The campground also features a six-unit motel with kitchens in each room, group lodge, pioneer camp and picnic shelters. This park has the largest sand beach lake of its kind in the state and offers fishing, boating, horseshoes, volleyball and miniature golf on its premises. The park features a lake loop trail and nature trail. Nearby attractions include Pickett's Mill Battlefield Historic Site.

One hour southwest of Atlanta in LaGrange is an RV park on the property of Hoofers Restaurant and Gospel Barn, where 162 full-service slots are available offering water and electrical hookup; 33 offer a sewer connection. Tent campers are also welcome. The park includes hot showers, a laundry facility with washers and dryers, and restrooms. Chattahoochee Bend State Park, an art museum and shopping are nearby.
