Okefenokee Pastimes promotes its facility as the closest campground to the wildlife refuge. The campground is located directly across from the main gate and headquarters of the refuge. The site offers camping, RV camping and cabins. Additional services include guided tours, outfitting, arts and crafts, and a gift shop.

The Stephen C. Foster State Park provides one of the primary entrances to the Okefenokee National Wildlife Refuge. The park is named for songwriter Stephen Foster. The park offers canoe, kayak and fishing boat rentals. There is also guided pontoon boat tours, a boat ramp, fishing and birding. Camping facilities include a pioneer camping site, which provides a primitive camping opportunity for a minimum group of 10. Regular minimum rates for the pioneer camping site are $40 per night. The park has an additional 64 campsites for RV, tent and trailer camping. The minimum regular rates as of February 2010 are $23 to $25 per night. Prices may vary for holidays and weekends. The park is located within the wildlife refuge and requires a $5 entry fee as well as check-in by 10 p.m.

The Laura S. Walker State Park is located near the southern edge of the Okefenokee Swamp. The facility has numerous recreational opportunities, including a 120-acre lake and a championship golf course. Boating and water skiing are permitted, with restrictions. Canoe rentals are available, as are three miles of nearby trails for hiking and biking. A group campsite that sleeps 142 has a regular rate of $425 per night. The facility has 44 tent, trailer and RV campsites with minimum rates of $21 to $23 per night as of February 2010.
