RV Campgrounds Near Jasper, Alabama

Jasper, Alabama is near the William B. Bankhead National Forest and Lewis Smith Lake in the foothills of the Appalachian Mountains. Abundant opportunities for outdoor recreation such as fishing, hiking, boating and mountain biking exist in the forest and on the lake. Jasper is home to only one RV park, located in a recreation area in the national forest. However, find campgrounds a short drive away.

  1. Clear Creek Recreation Area

    • Clear Creek Recreation Area is on Lewis Smith Lake with RV sites available on a first-come, first-served basis. The park provides paved sites and electric and water hook-ups. A dump station is available for use for an extra fee. Amenities at the recreation area include showers, ice and firewood sales, playground, boat launch, hiking trails, swimming area, picnic area and beach. All registered campers may use the facilities for no extra charge. The campground is open from mid-March through November 1st.

    Sleepy Hollow Campground

    • Stay at Sleepy Hollow Campground in Cordova, only seven miles from Jasper. The property includes 130 RV sites with water, sewer, telephone and electrical hook-ups. The park accommodates large RVs. Open year-round, the campground features two on-site lakes fully stocked with fish including largemouth bass and bluegill. All campers are welcome to attend services at Sleepy Hollow Independent Church, located on the grounds. Amenities include hiking trails, wildlife viewing areas, showers, laundry facilities and LP gas sales. Nearby attractions include the Union Chapel Mine Paleozoic Footprint and Fossil Site, Walker County Lake, Alabama Coal Mining Museum and Braswell’s Winery.

    Cherokee Campground

    • Cherokee Campground is located in Helena, 57 miles from Jasper. Wooded campsites can accommodate motor homes in a variety of sizes and include sewer, water and electrical hook-ups. Telephone service is available. Amenities include a book exchange, camp library, camp store, wireless Internet access, fishing lake, laundry room, bath house and package shipping services. Visit the nearby Civil Rights Institute, Mercedes-Benz International Visitors Center, Cahaba Lilly Park and the Birmingham Zoo.
