The Lone Pine Campsites in Colchester is a 15-mile drive from the city of Burlington and about 50 yards from Mallet's Bay on Lake Champlain. Lone Pine has 265 large RV sites and is a fully equipped campground with features such as basketball and tennis courts, two large swimming pools, laundry rooms, restrooms, showers, Wi-Fi Internet access, a dump station and a camp store with groceries. Children will enjoy free weekly rides on a 1952 fire truck and a video game room. The Lone Pine Campgrounds have four different tiers of RV sites, most of which are full hook-ups. The sites come with 30- to 50-amp electric. The campground is open from May 1 to the middle of October and hosts special events such as live musical shows and Junior Olympics.

Located in Addison, the 10 Acres Campground & RV Park is situated along 650 feet of Lake Champlain. In addition to fishing on Lake Champlain, recreational activities at the campground include a swimming pool, horseshoes, swings for children and a fishing pond for kids. The park stages special events, including themed weekends, a fishing derby and a pig roast. Campers can stay on tent or lean-to sites or on RV sites that all come with water, electric and sewer. Open from May 1 to Oct. 15, the campground has nightly and weekly rates. Boat lift rentals, a laundry facility, restrooms, showers, propane refills and a store that sells limited groceries, soda, ice, firewood and live fishing bait are available.

The Grand Isle State Park is situated on the 14-mile-long South Hero Island in Lake Champlain. Opened in 1959, the park has 226 acres with a nature center, a play area and a nature trail. According to its website, it is the most visited state park in Vermont. The park has 117 sites for tents or trailers, 36 lean-to sites and four cabins. All the sites are located near restrooms with showers, and 50 of them are big enough to accommodate RVs. A dump station is located on the grounds along with a boat launch ramp and sand volleyball courts. Permits allow campers to swim and fish from the shore, while the park office has kayaks and rowboats for rent. The nature center also offers games and interpretive programs. Access to the campground is limited to campers who have a pass for an electronic security gate. The park is open from the middle of May to Columbus Day in the mid-October.
