How do I Apply for a Blue Card?

An individual who has a Blue Card is allowed to live, work and travel in Europe. The Blue Card does not offer the holder permanent residency status and is valid for up to two years, after which the holder has the option to renew. Requirements for a Blue Card include a contract for employment for one year with a salary three times that of the current minimum wage. After five years, the holder of the card receives permanent residency status. Europe, as of 2009, has an EU Blue Card database registration. For a one-time fee, the applicant can register.
