The Garner State Park Campgrounds are 15 miles west of Utopia. Garner State Park has hiking trails, paved biking trails, picnic areas, miniature golf and swimming and boating in the Frio River. In spring and summer paddle boats and kayaks can be rented. Campsites with water and/or electric hookups are available and as of 2010, rates start at $10 a night.

If you are camping in an RV, Parkview Riverside RV Park has full RV accommodations and hookups. The campground is tree-lined, offering shaded campsites. There is also a laundry facility, Internet access and a small, on-site convenience store. Parkview Riverside Rv Park is located just outside of Garner State Park and as of 2010, daily rates start at $42.

Seventeen miles east of Utopia, north of Garner State Park, is the River Bend Camp. River Bend Camp has campgrounds as well as RV sites and cottage rentals. All campsites have tables, a grill, water access and lights. Several campsites also have screened shelters. Rates vary depending on the number of people and vehicles.
