How to Get a Passport Fast in Connecticut

If you need a U.S. passport in less than two weeks in order to travel internationally, or if you need a passport within four weeks in order to get a foreign visa, you can schedule an appointment with the Connecticut Passport Agency. Appointments are available 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., Monday through Friday.

      Make an Appointment. Call the automated appointment system at 1-877-487-2778.

      Arrive at your appointment on time. You will not be admitted 15 minutes before your appointment time, and you will not be admitted if you are 15 minutes late.

      Check in at the Information Desk. At this point, you need to present your Social Security Number or Appointment Confirmation number as well as proof of travel within two weeks or proof of emergency abroad.

      Take a queue number and wait for your appointment.

      When your number is called, present documents needed for a passport application. You must have two forms of identification. The first type of documentation needed is evidence of U.S. Citizenship, which can be a previously issued U.S. Passport, a certified birth certificate, a Consular Report of Birth Abroad, Naturalization Certificate, or a Certificate of Citizenship. The second is a Present Identification, which can be a previously issued U.S. Passport, Naturalization Certificate, Valid Driver's License, or a current Government or Military ID. You also need Form DS-11: Application for U.S. Passport (available online or at the agency), a photocopy of each chosen document, two passport photos, and the passport fee (in check, credit card, or money order).
