Fill out a passport application form. This will be either a C1 or C2 renewal form. The passport application can be downloaded from the British Embassy's website, and the type of form you will need depends on your citizenship and resident status within the United States.
Print and fill out the payment form. This can be downloaded from the Embassy's website and mailed in with your application. All payments must be made to "British Embassy Government Account," and credit cards are accepted. All passport payments must be made in U.S. dollars and as of November 2010, an Adult 32-paged passport is priced at $205.
Have two passport photos taken and include these with your application. These photos can be taken at drug stores, such as Walgreens or CVS. One photo included with your passport application needs to be countersigned.
Double-check your forms and be sure you have everything required by the British Embassy. To avoid any delays or a rejected application, read through all forms for any incomplete sections or incorrect information.
