Campgrounds Near High Falls, Georgia

High Falls, Georgia, was a thriving mill town in the early 19th century. But in the 1880s, a railroad was established that bypassed the community, rendering High Falls a ghost town. Today, High Falls State Park is a lake shore recreation area about 60 miles due south of Atlanta. The lake and surrounding area are a welcome respite for city residents, and with the convenience of Interstate Highway 75, High Falls is a popular stop for travelers.
